Laminated window beams from Siberian Larch
Conifers, most often spruce and larch, are chosen for glued beams. Its preparation is a very laborious and time-consuming process, but the quality and practicality of the material are worth it.
The first step is to dry the wood. Drying takes place naturally or in special ovens up to 12% moisture.
Then the logs are cut into planks in width and at this stage the board is checked for knots, cracks and damage and removed.
Finished boards are glued into lamellas using micro-grooves and spikes.
The last step is to glue the lamella to the grinder using high pressure presses.
Based on that, glued beams are significantly more expensive than ordinary wood.
